Below, we show some ice thickness products produced with the current algorithm.

A major challenge is masking the clouds under arctic conditions, often during nighttime. This has resulted in a very conservative cloud mask, covering much of the images, and most of the open water.

The images also contain a "thick ice mask" identifying multi-year ice and thick first year ice. For these areas of thick ice, the algorithm for ice thickness estimation is not valid.
