New Research Scientist has joined SAMBA
Kristoffer Herland Hellton joined our research department SAMBA November 1, 2016.
Kristoffer Hellton has a Master’s degree in Industrial Mathematics and Statistics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He defended his PhD thesis in Biostatistics February 2015 at the Dept. of Biostatistics, University of Oslo, and his thesis dealt with the consistency of principal component analysis in high-dimensional data and the impact of measurement error. In addition, he developed a new integrative clustering procedure for several genetic data layers.
He has since May 2015 been a postdoctoral fellow at the Dept. of Mathematics, University of Oslo, within the FocuStat group working with focused prediction and model selection, in particular with penalized regression methods.
Kristoffer will at NR work with robust flood estimation for dams in Norway and modeling of neuropsychiatric symptoms.
