In April, Carl-Inge C. Nilsen joined the SAND department as Senior Research Scientist.

Carl-Inge C. Nilsen has an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in signal processing from the University of Oslo from 2005 and 2010, respectively. His postgraduate research focused on advanced beamforming in ultrasound imaging. After finishing his degree, he held a postdoc position at the University of Oslo, doing research in sonar imaging.

He has also worked with acoustic applications of signal processing for Squarehead Technology and Elliptic Labs. His last position was as a researcher with geoscience company CGG, where he worked on the team developing the TopSeis acquisition technology.

At NR, Carl-Inge will be working on research and software development for seismic data inversion.
